About docbookm

The docbookm package is contributed with LayManSys and contains very simple XSLT drivers for generating XHTML chunks from DocBook XML.

Release Notes

This release supports much more DocBook XML tags, see the *.xsl files for a list of all tags recognized.

This contributed package is used internally for generating XHTML chunks for the projects website from the DocBook XML documentation. But you can also use it for your needs. All the files you need to use the package are bundled in the ZIP archive.

Bugs

General

• The XSLT files for inline markup only recognize a limited DocBook XML subset, see the file para.xsl for details about supported tags.
  Especially, there is currently no support for <example> and <screen> which are used for code blocks.

section.xsl

• This file does not handle more than one section in a file and may not deal well with subsections.

Installation

This package does not require an installation, you only have to unzip the packages contents into a directory of your choice and start using it. The contributed Makefile is used for testing the XSLT programs, but you can modify it for your needs transforming DocBook XML.

If you want to use the test cases (see the Makefile for details), you have to unzip the contrib/ directory next to the doc/ directory of your LayManSys installation.

Documentation

There is no special documentation available. Use the file abstract.xsl for transforming an abstract and section.xsl for transforming sections. All other .xsl files are only includes needed by this two ones.
